MMS Proposes Changes to Regulations for Reporting Incidents

On September 3, 2003, MMS and the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) hosted a public meeting  to discuss the MMS Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPR) concerning incident reporting requirements. In developing the NPR, MMS worked with the USCG to align the two agencies’ incident reporting requirements and reduce duplicative reporting.

To learn more about OCS incidents that are reported to the MMS, please visit our Offshore Stats & Facts and OCS Events pages. MMS offers data fact sheets and trend analyses for incidents reported since 1995.
