Public and firefighter safety is the highest priority objective in developing fire management tactics. Location: The Caribou and Anthony Milne fires, managed collectively as the Bear Wallow Complex, were started by lightning on June 21, 2008. The fires are burning in the Salmon and Scott River Ranger District of the Klamath National Forest. The Caribou Fire is located about six miles southeast of Cecilville and the Anthony Milne Fire is located in the Marble Mountain Wilderness about 12 miles west of Etna, California.
