Current Fire Situation:The current weather pattern has cleared the air and skies in the fire area.  As a result, this has allowed firefighters to complete firing operations near the Klamath River.  Yesterday the fire became active in the headwaters of No Name Creek and is burning well within the containment lines to the south and west.  All established containment lines continue to hold for the Siskiyou Complex fire.

This morning California Incident Management Team 5 assumed command of the management of the Blue 2 fire. A spike camp located at Big Flat south of Gasquet will still support firefighters working on the Blue 2 fire. The Incident Command Post located at Happy Camp will be moving to Orleans Friday, July 25 so that they can logistically and operationally support the firefighting efforts.

The main objective: Firefighters will prepare to burn from No Name Creek south towards containment lines along Bean Ridge.  Firefighters will also continue to build contingency line towards the west along the southern portion of the Siskiyou Complex towards the Blue 2 fire.

Structure protection along the Highway 96 corridor is being shared with the Ukonom Complex. Drivers are asked to drive cautiously, with lights on and not drive too fast due to smoky conditions and fire equipment and firefighters working along Highway 96.

Area Closures: To protect public safety and to facilitate fire suppression efforts closures of the Dillon Creek Campground the GO Road north of Road 11N11, Dillon Creek Trails, and Roads 14N69, 13N35, 14N19, 14N38, 13N38, 11N11, 12N12, 15N38 are still in effect. Rafting access to the Klamath River in the fire area is restricted.

Health Advisories: Area residents and visitors should be aware of very smoky conditions and low visibility throughout the area. Persons with asthma or other respiratory disease should avoid strenuous outdoor exercise or activity.

Community Meeting:  A Community meeting will be held in Somes Bar at Junction School at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 24.  Representatives from both the Siskiyou Complex and the Ukonom Complex will be there to discuss the current status of these fires.
