Directions to Weaverville area recreational facilities

These directions generally reference the town of Weaverville, located on Highway 299, 45 miles west of Redding, as a starting point. To get there, take the 299/Lake Blvd. exit (#680), west off of I-5. Travel 45 miles to the community of Weaverville. If you have difficulty following the directions, or they are inaccurate, please let us know and we will try to make corrections.

  • Ackerman campground - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 7 miles. Turn right on Rush Creek Road for 9 miles. Turn left on Trinity Dam Blvd for 7.5 miles.

  • Alpine View campground - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 22.5 miles. Turn right on Guy Covington Road for 2.4 miles to the campground.

  • Big Flat campground - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 36.6 miles. Turn left onto to Coffee Creek Road for 18.4 miles. Road ends at the campground.

  • Bowerman boat ramp - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 22 miles. Turn right on Covington Drive for 2 miles. Turn right again for 1/4 mile to boat ramp.

  • Bridge Camp campground - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 13 miles. Cross over the Stuart Fork Bridge. Turn left onto Trinity Alps Resort Road. Pass the resort. The next two miles is on dirt road. The road ends at the campground.

  • Bushytail multi-group campground - On Highway 3, 16.5 miles north of Weaverville and 14 miles south of Trinity Center. Look for the directional sign to Minersville and Bushytail Campgrounds.

  • Captains Point campground - Located on the west side of the main arm of Trinity Lake, Captains Point  is the northern most boat access campground.

  • Clark Springs boat ramp - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 16 miles. Turn right on Clarks Springs Road for 1/2 mile to boat ramp.

  • Clark Springs campground - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 16.6 miles. Turn right on Clark Springs exit. Campground is 1/2 mile from exit.

  • Clear Creek campground - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 34.2 miles. Turn right on County Road 106, crossing over Carrville Bridge. Stay on county road for 13 miles to the French Gulch/Clear Creek Campground junction. Turn left, continue for 2 miles to the campground.

  • Cooper Gulch campground - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 7 miles. Turn right on Rush Creek Road for 9 miles. Turn left on Trinity Dam Blvd for 2.5 miles. Then right on Cooper Gulch exit. This facility is fully wheelchair accessible. 

  • Eagle Creek campground - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 40.9 miles. Take the second Eagle Creek Loop Road turnoff. Turn right at the T-intersection for 1.1 miles to the campground.

  • East Weaver campground - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 2 miles. Turn left on Road 228.  Campground is 1.5 miles on left.

  • Fawn group campground - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 14.4 miles. Take Fawn exit. Campground is located ¼ mile from exit.

  • Fairview boat ramp - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 7 miles. Turn right on Rush Creek Road for 9 miles. Turn left on Trinity Dam Blvd for 9 miles. Turn right on Fairview Road for 1/4 mile to boat ramp.

  • Goldfield campground - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 36.6 miles. Turn left onto to Coffee Creek Road for 4.7 miles. Turn left onto bridge over Coffee Creek to the campground.

  • Hayward Flat campground - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 17.5 miles. Turn right on Hayward Flat Road for 2 miles.

  • Horse Flat campground - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 40.9 miles. Take the second Eagle Creek Loop Road turnoff. Turn right at the T-intersection. Pass Eagle Creek Campground. Continue on dirt road for 2 miles to campground.

  • Jackass Springs campground - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 34.2 miles. Turn right on County Road 106, crossing over Carrville Bridge. Stay on county road for 12.4 miles until Jackass Springs Road junction. Turn right, continue for 5 miles to the campground.

  • Mariners Roost campground - Boat access campground.  Located on the Stuart Fork Arm, on the east side of the Mule Creek cove.

  • Mary Smith campground - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 7 miles. Turn right on Rush Creek Road for 9 miles. Turn left on Trinity Dam Blvd for ¾ mile. Then right on Lewiston Vista/Mary Smith exit. Campground is ¼ mile from exit.

  • Minersville campground - This campground is neatly tucked into a point on the Stuart Fork arm of Trinity lake.

  • Minersville boat ramp - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 15 miles. Turn right on Minersville/Bushytail Road for 1 mile to boat ramp.

  • Pine Cove boat ramp - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 7 miles. Turn right on Rush Creek Road for 9 miles. Turn left on Trinity Dam Blvd for 5 miles.

  • Preacher Meadow campground - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3, north for 27 miles. Turn left at the campground sign. Campground is ½ mile from the turnoff.

  • Ridgeville campground - Boat access only campground. Located on the east point of the Mule Creek cove.

  • Ridgeville Island campground - A boat-in campground sandwiched between Ridgeville and Mariner's Roost.

  • Rush Creek campground - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for about 8 miles.  Turn left at Rush Creek campground sign.  Campground is 1/2 mile down road.

  • Scott Mountain campground - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 53.4 miles to the top of Scott Mountain Summit. Campground is located on the highway to the left of the summit sign.

  • Stoney Creek group campground - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 13.8 miles. It is located on the left side of the highway next to Stoney swim area.

  • Stoney Creek swim area - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 13.8 miles. It is located on the left side of the highway next to Stoney Creek group camp.

  • Stoney Point campground - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 13.3 miles.

  • Stuart Fork boat ramp - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 13 miles to boat ramp.

  • Tanbark picnic area - On a bluff overlooking Stuart Fork arm is Tanbark Picnic. It is 13 miles north of Weaverville, just past the Tannery Gulch Campground turnoff.

  • Tannery Gulch campground - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 10.5 miles. Take Tannery Gulch exit. Campground is located 1 mile from exit

  • Trinity Center boat ramp - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 29 miles to Trinity Center. Turn right on Airport Road for one block. Turn left on Mary Avenue for 1 mile to boat ramp.

  • Trinity River campground - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 38 miles.  Campground is on the left side of Hwy 3.

  • Tunnel Rock campground - From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 7 miles. Turn right on Rush Creek Road for 9 miles. Turn left on Trinity Dam Blvd for 6.25 miles. Campground is located on the left side of the road.
