Stakeholder Report
Providing Quality Recreation Opportunities in the NRA
This report highlights the improvements that are taking place in the
Shasta-Trinity National Recreation Area (NRA) as a result of the NRA Fee
Retention Project (FRP). I am very excited about what we have accomplished to
date. We've overcome enormous challenges and produced impressive results.
2000 was a busy and productive year in the NRA. Thanks to the participation
of many of our partners and the extra effort exhibited by many NRA employees, we
implemented some top priority Fee Retention Projects that are providing numerous
benefits for our visitors. These projects would not have been possible without
the Fee Retention Project.
Current Recreation Fee Demonstration Program legislation is authorized
through September 2002. Congress will continue to monitor the success of the
program.
We will continue to promote partnerships that provide opportunities to
leverage all sources of funding, including fee retention, to maximize benefits,
maintain improvements, and provide showcase quality recreation opportunities in
the NRA.
Sincerely,
Kristy Cottini
