As you may know, the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central
Valley Region adopted Resolution No. 05-01-211 on September 6, 2001. The
resolution implemented an immediate prohibition on the discharge of gray water
from any houseboat moored at a marina. The resolution also established a 5-year
time frame to eliminate gray water discharges from all houseboats on Shasta Lake
ending on September 7, 2006.
Gray water is defined as the discharge from
sinks, shower, dishwasher, laundry and hot tubs associated with houseboat use on
Shasta Lake.
