Nine countries to Co-sponsor Fire Research Forum

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will host the Fifth Triennial International Aircraft Fire and Cabin Safety Research Conference, from October 29-November 1, at the Tropicana Casino Resort, Brighton Avenue and the Boardwalk, in Atlantic City.

This is the fifth in a series of triennial conferences sponsored by international aviation authorities to update the international aviation community on recent, ongoing and planned research activities in transport category airplane fire and cabin safety. The conference will address both certification and operational issues, covering: materials fire safety, systems fire safety, cabin and hidden area fire protection, engine fire protection, crashworthiness, evacuation and operational issues.

This fall's conference reflects the broadest range of international sponsorship ever. Sponsoring authorities are: FAA, Transport Canada Civil Aviation, the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia, the Civil Aviation Bureau of Japan, the National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil, Ente Nazionale par l'Aviazione Civile of Italy, Direction Generale de l'Aviation Civile of France, and the Aviation Register of Russia.

Conference registration is free, with a registration deadline of September 30. Registration can be completed online on the FAA Fire Safety site. From here you can also find information on hotel accommodations, special conference rates, a hotel reservations link, and conference group hotel booking code.
