About VA Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System
Fulfilling our pledge to provide care close to the veterans’ home, the VA Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System provides primary care and specialty services along the Alabama and Mississippi Gulf Coast, and the Florida Panhandle. The health care system consists of a VHA inpatient facility located in Biloxi, MS, and outpatient clinics in Mobile, AL, and Pensacola, Fort Walton Beach(Eglin AFB), and Panama City, FL.

Project Acorn is the final phase of the VA Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System's recovery from Hurricane Katrina. With the loss of the Gulfport VA campus, new buildings are being constructed at the Biloxi campus. Project Acorn will not only replace what was lost at Gulfport, it will increase VA's ability to meet the future healthcare needs of veterans across the Gulf Coast region.
