DRAFT VISION STATEMENTS

ARIZONA

Preventing and ending homelessness in Arizona is everyone’s responsibility.

ARKANSAS

Our vision is to provide access to safe, integrated, adequate housing and services, necessary to enable people experiencing chronic homelessness to live with dignity.

It is our mission to ameliorate homelessness and nurture dignity by:

  • better coordinating existing resources
  • developing funding options for homeless initiatives
  • increasing awareness statewide and sharing information among homeless advocates, providers, homeless persons, policy-makers, and the public
  • collaborating to create new paths and options for people who are homeless
  • developing more integrated, adequate, and affordable housing options

FLORIDA

To end chronic homelessness in Florida by 2012.

MISSISSIPPI

Mississippi has a statewide coordinated service delivery system where each individual has equal access to all resources needed to become self-sufficient while maintaining full self-determination.

MISSOURI

Homelessness is unacceptable in Missouri. Therefore, all individuals have safe, affordable housing in healthy communities with access to a network of supportive services.

Our mission is to end homelessness by:

  • Establishing strategies to promote public and private coordination and collaboration
  • Developing new strategies to evaluate and reallocate resources
  • Removing barriers to access
  • Meeting immediate support service and affordable housing needs
  • Implementing effective solutions to build economic security
  • Promoting and supporting activities that prevent homelessness

NEW MEXICO

We envision a New Mexico where the will and resources exist to empower communities to end homelessness. This will be accomplished by creating affordable housing with supportive services as needed, universal access to healthcare, and a living wage for all by 2010.

NORTH CAROLINA

North Carolina will significantly reduce the number of people experiencing homelessness across the state by pursuing aggressive prevention strategies and by expanding access to safe, permanent, affordable housing and coordinated support services, tailored to individual needs.

SOUTH CAROLINA

In South Carolina, every person will have a place to call home that is safe, affordable, accessible and supported by a coordinated, comprehensive public and private service system, driven by sustained public support and political leadership and adequate, well-leveraged resources, that prevents the conditions that could lead to homelessness.
