FOREST SUPERVISOR’S ORDER

 

Pursuant to 36 Code of Federal Regulations 261.50(b), the following changes in road closure status shall be made to the Lolo National Forest Travel Plan and the enforcement of such changes shall be as authorized in Subpart B, Part 261, Title 36, Code of Federal Regulations. This order will become effective upon signing and will remain in effect until rescinded by a subsequent order.

 

36 CFR 261.54 – National Forest System Roads

 

Description of roads:

 

  • Richmond Creek Road Number 671, M.P. 0.05 to end of road. Begins in Section 12, T. 18 N., R. 16 W.
  • Skyline Spur Number 17486, M.P. 0.00 to end of road. Begins in Section 4, T. 18 N., R. 15 W.
  • Mountain View Spur Number 17593, M.P. 0.00 – M.P. 1.20. Begins in Section 4, T. 18 N., R. 15 W.
  • Section 7 Road Number 16653, M.P. 1.13 – M.P. 1.48.  Begins Section 8, T. 17 N., R. 14 W.
  • Blind Canyon Road Number 4378, M.P. 4.67 – M.P. 5.83.  Begins in Section 16, T.17 N.,

R.14 W.

 

The following is prohibited:

 

1.      Using any motorized vehicle (except snowmobiles) on the National Forest System Roads listed.  (36 CFR 261.54(a))

 

2.      Using a snowmobile on the National Forest System Roads listed during the        period April 1 to December 1.  (36 CFR 261.54(a))

 

Description of roads:

 

  • Clearwater Lake Loop Road Number 4370 M.P. 0.05 – M.P.7.0, from its intersection with Highway 83 in Section 36, T. 19 N., R. 16 W. to the Clearwater Lake Trailhead in Section 19, T. 19 N., R. 15 W.

 

 

 

The following is prohibited:

 

1.      Using any motorized vehicle on the National Forest System Road listed during the period April 1 to June 30. (36 CFR 261.54(a))

 

Exemptions:

 

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order.

1.      Persons with a permit specifically authorizing the prohibited act or omission.

2.      Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or firefighting force in the performance of an official duty.

3.      Owners or lessees in the area.

Penalty:

 

Violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or both (16 USC 551 and 18 USC 3559 AND 3571).
