The Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS), Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) is redesigning its system for monitoring state vocational rehabilitation (VR) agencies. The monitoring system is used to determine whether state VR agencies are complying with their state plans and to evaluate their performance using the standards and indicators in section 106 of the Rehabilitation Act.
RSA refers to the redesign process as the Monitoring Redesign Initiative (MRI). The goal of the MRI is to create a new RSA monitoring system that builds on its most effective aspects. The MRI is a collaborative effort between RSA and its partners and stakeholders.
RSA held a monitoring conference in Washington, D.C., Aug. 24-25, 2005.
At the August conference, after receiving appropriate background information, attendees were given the opportunity to provide their input on RSA's monitoring process.
This Web page will be used to update interested parties about the development
and implementation of the new monitoring system. Once the new system is in place,
interested parties can use the RSA Monitoring Web page to access monitoring
reports and receive updates on activities related to the new system.
