Toll-Free Disaster Assistance Registration Line Changes Hours Of Operation

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) toll-free registration line has changed its operating hours for those in St. Louis city and county who were affected by the severe July storms and flooding.
According to Curt Musgrave, federal coordinating officer, the toll-free registration number will operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, effective immediately. Previously, the line had been open on Saturdays as well.
FEMA's toll-free registration number is 1-800-462-9029. For those who are hearing- or speech-impaired, the TTY number is: 1-800-462-7585.
To register, applicants must be renters, homeowners or business owners within St. Louis city or county and must have sustained damages because of severe storms and flooding from July 10-31.
As of Tuesday, Nov. 10, FEMA had received a total of 1,428 registrations and had approved $821,306 in disaster housing assistance. The deadline for applying is Dec. 18.
