TSA Names Federal Security Director For San Jose Airport

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) named Calvin Yuen as Federal Security Director for Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport.

"Cal brings proven leadership and exceptional transportation security credentials to San Jose," said Rear Adm. David M. Stone, USN (Ret.), Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security for TSA.  "He is one of the ‘quiet professionals’ who serve every day on the front lines carrying out TSA’s mission against terrorism.  We look forward to him continuing to do so in this new post."

Yuen has served as the Deputy Federal Security Director at Oakland International Airport since 2002.  He will be reporting to his new location the week of September 20th.

Previously, Yuen spent 18 years with the Federal Aviation Administration, most recently as the Manager of the Civil Aviation Security Field Office in San Francisco with responsibility for Northern California.  He also spent 28 years working with Pan American World Airways, serving his last assignment in 1982 as San Francisco-based security manager, with responsibility for Southeast Asia and the South Pacific.  

The position of federal security director was created by the Aviation and Transportation Security Act signed by President Bush on November 19, 2001.
