Brian Cahill Named TSA's Federal Security Director for Bob Hope Airport

BURBANK, Calif. – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has named Brian Cahill federal security director for Bob Hope Airport (BUR), Burbank, Calif.
Cahill comes to TSA from Customs and Border Protection (CBP) where he most recently served as the assistant port director at Los Angeles/Long Beach Seaport.
"Brian has demonstrated over the course of his career a significant commitment to the security of our country and to protecting the homeland," said Mo McGowan, TSA's assistant administrator for Security Operations. "We are pleased to bring him on board and are confident his abilities and experience will help TSA BUR move forward."
Prior to his last assignment with CBP, Cahill served as the assistant port director at Los Angeles International Airport and had previously served at CBP headquarters in Washington, D.C., as the liaison officer for all CBP offices on the West Coast and the northern border of the United States.
While in Washington, Cahill worked with Department of Defense officials to acquire National Guard support for all land border ports of entry during the aftermath of Sept. 11, 2001 and he participated in the CBP Transition Working Group responsible for creating the uniform currently worn by CBP officers.
Cahill enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1986 and is currently a commissioned officer in the United States Navy Reserve. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Chapman University.
