School Programs
Time, Tracks, and Trails - Fall
A hands-on school program designed for for students to experience
the excitement of archaeology, the understanding of cultures,
and protecting our heritage. Program is built for grades 5-12.
Project SNOW - Winter
Full-day programs at Lava Lands Visitor Center. The program is
suitable for grades 5-12. Based on scientific inquiry, Project
SNOW includes a classroom introduction to Winter Ecology, Snow
Studies, Watershed Ecology, and experiential snowshoe field exercises.
Pathway to Discovery - Spring
Newberry National Volcanic Monument offers a spectacular opportunity
to study the effects of geology and related earth science subjects
upon our world. The Monuments earth science program creates
a connection between students and their natural world by bringing
them into contact with the dramatic evidence of Central Oregons
volcanic legacy.
