Disaster Recovery Center To Close In Kahoka And Hours To Change For Operating Centers On July 28

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- After serving Clark County, the Disaster Recovery Center at the Clark County Middle School, 384 N. Jefferson in Kahoka will end operations at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 26.  However, until that date the center will remain open with service hours of 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

For those who may still have disaster assistance questions after the center closes, help remains just a phone call away. Operators at the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA's) Helpline- 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 1-800-462-7585-  are available to answer disaster assistance questions, assist applicants who may want to check on the status of their application, and register disaster victims for assistance. Lines are open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. August 27, 2008 is the deadline to apply for disaster assistance for the severe storms and flooding that began June 1.

Those who may have questions about low-interest loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) can call the SBA at 1-800-659-2955, e-mail to disastercustomerservice@sba.gov or visit SBA's Web site at: www.sba.gov/services/disasterassistance.

Those affected by the flooding can also visit any DRC that is currently open. The centers are listed below with new hours beginning on July 28

Hours this week:  8 a.m. to 7 p.m., through Saturday and closed on Sunday.  New hours beginning Monday, July 28, are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday; 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday; and closed on Sunday.
