National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program Public Laws
The National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program (NEHRP), which was created under the Earthquake Hazards Reduction Act of 1977 (Public Law 95-124), was last reauthorized on October 25, 2004, by the National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program Reauthorization Act of 2004, Public Law 108-360.

Executive Orders
Two Presidential executive orders require appropriate seismic safety measures for federal buildings. They are Executive Order 12699, Seismic Safety of Federal and Federally Assisted or Regulated New Building Construction, signed January 5, 1990, and Executive Order 12941, Seismic Safety of Existing Federally Owned or Leased Buildings, signed December 1, 1994.
