  NHSC Scholarship: Sub-Specialities
  Question
I want to specialize in internal medicine, but would also like to subspecialize. If I am selected to receive the National Health Service Corps Scholarship, will I be able to do this before serving my obligation to provide clinical primary care services at a National Health Service Corps-approved site?
  Answer

No. National Health Service Corps Scholars must complete the NHSC service commitment as soon as they have completed required training.

Allopathic and osteopathic medical students who are unsure about their future specialty interests or who are unable to commit to complete a primary health care specialty are advised not to apply to the NHSC Scholarship Program.
