ST CROIX, V.I. -- The Disaster Field Office (DFO), where all of the FEMA and Territory disaster relief efforts are coordinated, will remain open through close of business on Saturday, December 18, 1999. It is an administrative office only.

The Disaster Recovery Center (DRC), located at the Sion Farm Commercial Center, Queen Mary Highway, will continue operating Monday through Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., until further notice.

Representatives from the Government of The Virgin Islands, FEMA, the Small Business Administration and other key disaster assistance agencies are available at the DRC. In addition, experts on hazard mitigation are at the DRC to provide information on how to safeguard buildings against future disasters.

Those who have questions, need to update or correct information on their applications, verify the status of applications, or need to obtain information about disaster assistance programs, may visit the DRC or call the FEMA Helpline at 1-800-525-0321 (TTY: 1-800-462-7585).

Helpline representatives are available six days a week, Monday through Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
