Untaped source of workers

In this transition to stability, there may be places and times when a person who is very knowledgeable is needed for a brief period  of time to make things work properly, etc.  Consider using retired professionals.  They don't really need a lot of money, they don't want a lot of responsibility, but they do want to help and do have a great deal of knowledge.  Those of us who are retired are very willing to volunteer, if our retiremnet has not been wiped out.   Sometimes we only need to earn a little bit to make ends meet.  Let us help.  You can add an elder person to any work situation and it will benefit everyone.

Don't forget the Stay-at-home Moms too! Some of us would like to work too, but we feel we must put our family first.

This sounds great, but our main problem today and I would think in the future is not a lack of workers, it's a lack of jobs and  good wages.  By adding more people to the workforce, we actually suppress wages.

The key is to provide part-time temporary oppritunites so that people can aid the goverment.  The core would still be full time civil service.  It would be a great example that state and local goverments may follow if sucessful.
