The EES Student HandbookWe hope this web site will help navigate your way while working at the lab. Let us know if you have any questions or suggestions! The Earth and Environmental Sciences (ESS) Division of LANL employs approximately 50 students and 15 postdocs on a yearly basis. We offer many opportunities for students and postdocs to gain relevant research and work experience in a unique environment. Students and postdocs are involved in research and applied science in a variety of disciplines, inlcuding geology, hydrology, geochemistry, geophysics, geoengineering, geoanalysis, geotechnical engineering, atmospheric and climate sciences, risk analysis, and environmental sciences. Student internship appointments range in length from a few months to several years, with many students working only during the summer months. Postdoc appointments typically are for 1-2 years. News - This year's Student Symposium, "Championing Scientific Careers", will be held August 5-6, 2008 at the University of New Mexico-Los Alamos campus.
