The Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert W. Carey Performance Excellence Awards are presented annually to recognize Department organizations that have demonstrated noteworthy levels of performance excellence in seven areas:  leadership; strategic planning; customer and market focus; measurement, analysis, and knowledge management; workforce resource focus; process management; and results.  The award follows the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Criteria.  It provides a model against which organizations can assess their quality transformation efforts, organizational effectiveness, and performance in delivering service and satisfying customers.

The award is dedicated to the memory of the late Robert W. Carey, who as Director of the Veterans Affairs Regional Office and Insurance Center in Philadelphia, PA, was recognized as a quality leader and champion for excellence in the Federal government.

Congratulations to all employees of the medical center who give excellent care to our veterans and who continue to look for ways to improve patient care and patient satisfaction.
