The NHTSA Office of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) has announced the formation of a National EMS Advisory Council (NEMSAC). The NEMSAC will be a nationally recognized council of EMS and 9-1-1 representatives and consumers, who will provide advice and recommendations to NHTSA’s EMS program on a broad range of issues. Any interested party may submit a nomination for NEMSAC provided they comply with nomination procedures which are described in the attached Notice of Establishment posted in the Federal Register (NHTSA-2006-26143, December 18, 2006). Also attached are guidelines for submitting comments and/or nominations for NEMSAC. All nominations and comments can be viewed on the Department of Transportations (DOT) Docket Management System (DMS). Comments and nominations must be received February 16, 2007. NHTSA has a forty year history of supporting EMS systems through partnership and collaboration with Federal, State and national EMS agencies. The NEMSAC establishes a formal method for obtaining input and advice from the nation’s EMS community. |
