Undergraduate Salary Structure

The rates below are effective October 1, 2008.
Salaries are evaluated from students' current transcripts based on college academic progression and hours completed in a degree program.

Administrative/Professional Structure

HS+0 HS Grad & acceptance to college $20,490 $9.85
HS+1 Completion of first year and a minimum of 24 semester hours $24,070 $11.57
HS+2 Completion of second year and a minimum of 48 semester hours (salary cap for students pursuing an Associate's Degree) $27,000 $12.98
HS+3 Completion of third year and a minimum of 72 semester hours (15 of which must consist of upper-division coursework) $30,500 $14.66
HS+4 Completion of fourth year and a minimum of 96 semester hours $34,100 $16.39
Post Baccalaureate
Bachelor’s Degree awarded

Salary Increases

Salaries are based on a student's level of education. Students receive a salary increase when:

  • The salary structure has been revised and/or
  • Documented completion of additional hours within the student's degree program enables the student to move to the next salary level.
    or
  • Documented completion of a degree.

Salary Increase Effective Dates

All salary increases are effective the Monday after documentation has been received in the Student Programs Office. For additional information, contact bmontoya@lanl.gov.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Provide documentation of acceptance into an undergraduate academic program,
  • Enroll in and successfully complete a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester in an accredited college or university degree program, and
  • Initially have and maintain a cumulative 2.8/4.0 GPA
