National Fire Plan Awards Ceremony

Albuquerque, NM (February 15, 2005)-- The National Fire Plan Awards Ceremony will be held tonight, February 15 at the Albuquerque Convention Center, showcasing accomplishments in seven categories including Biomass Utilization, Collaboration, Community Assistance, Excellence in Firefighter Preparedness, Training & Safety, Hazardous Fuels Reduction, Rehabilitation & Restoration and Research. Opportunities to interview dignitaries begin at 5:30pm.

What: National Fire Plan Awards Ceremony - 2004 awards presentation.
Who: Dignitaries from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Department of the Interior will be on hand to present the awards to the selected groups and individuals.

The following dignitaries will be available for interviews:

The National Fire Plan (NFP) represents a long-term obligation and investment that helps to protect communities, natural resources, and most importantly, the lives of firefighters and the public. As the NFP enters its fifth year, we again want to recognize the many outstanding accomplishments related to the implementation of the NFP goals and objectives.
