Q: What if I don't have email?
A: There are several Internet Service Providers that offer free email accounts. Hotmail
(http://www.hotmail.com) and Yahoo
(http://mail.yahoo.com) are just two of these providers.
Through them or other companies, you can obtain a free email address that you can use with
USAJOBS.
Q: Will the system work with all browser types?
A: USAJOBS supports Netscape and Internet Explorer Versions 5.x and above on Windows, as
well as Safari 1.0 and above on the Mac.
Q: Can I use USAJOBS from my office computer?
A: Whether or not you can use your office computer to apply for positions depends on your
employer's policy:

Yes. You can use your NSF computer to apply for positions (within reason). |
NSF policy permits employees to use their Federal computers and email to apply for
positions. However, please remember that you may use government property/ resources to
apply for positions only during lunch and before and after work. |
You work for any other Federal agency or you work for a company in private industry |
Contact your employer's personnel office for information on whether or not this is
acceptable. |

Q: I am not a citizen of the United States. Am I eligible to
apply for positions at NSF?
A: With the exception of Science Assistants, NSF positions usually require U.S. citizenship.
The vacancy announcement will specify if citizenship is required. For more information on
