HRSA's 2006 CFC Total Tops Target

Combined Federal Campaign logoHRSA employees' contribution of $176,426 to the 2006 Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) for the National Capitol Area easily surpassed the agency's goal at the outset of the campaign to raise $160,000.

HRSA's effort helped the full Department collect $4.4 million for CFC charities and once again maintain its status as the most generous federal department in the D.C. metro area.

"Once again the good nature of HRSA employees is made evident by their support of the CFC," said HRSA Administrator Betty Duke. "I congratulate HRSA's campaign chairman, Charlie Kuebler, and keyworkers throughout the agency."

More than 500 HRSA employees contributed to the campaign at an average gift amount of $345. Contributors included 25 "eagles" and 8 "double eagles"; eagles commit 1 percent of their salary to the campaign, double eagles twice that.

In 2007, more than 3,000 non-profit health and welfare organizations were eligible to receive CFC donations from area federal workers. Charities must meet eligibility and public accountability standards set forth in regulations governing the campaign.
