This booklet presents a summary of the current knowledge base surrounding mental health issues in America’s rural and frontier areas, as a solid resource to assist with Federal, State, and local efforts to improve mental health and substance abuse policies and services. It highlights the environment of mental health in rural areas over three decades with hopes of being a valuable resource across the spectrum of rural mental health from the perspectives of local community planning to national policy development. The booklet includes annotations and a user’s guide to the annotated bibliography.
