All Terrain Vehicle Use on the Monongahela National Forest

The use of All Terrain Vehicles (ATV's) is illegal on the Monongahela National Forest. Only registered and titled vehicles are allowed on forest development roads. All Terrain Vehicles are not registered by the State of WV.

Snowmobiling

The only location where snowmobiling is currently permitted on the Monongahela National Forest is on the Highland Scenic Highway. Please contact the Marlinton Ranger District for more information, at 304-799-4334.

Motor Vehicle Use Maps (MVUM)

Notice: The Monongahela National Forest District Rangers have worked with WVDNR area managers to determine roads that will open earlier than their normal schedule for 2008 to accomodate the early bear hunt scheduled by WVDNR. For more information click here.
