Sanctuary Friends:
Sanctuary Friends of the Florida Keys,
Inc. is dedicated to raising awareness and building support for the
Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. Sanctuary Friends seeks to
protect the endangered marine ecosystems of the Florida Keys and North
America's largest coral reef for current and future generations.
The International
Society for Reef Studies (ISRS):
The ISRS consists of over 750 members in
over 50 countries, was founded in 1981 for the purpose of promoting the
production and dissemination of scientific knowledge and understanding
of coral reefs, both living and fossil. The ISRS publishes the
scientific journal CORAL REEFS and holds periodic meetings around the

International Center for Living Aquatic
Resources Management:
ICLARM is an international research
organization devoted to improving the productivity, management and
conservation of aquatic resources for the benefit of users and
consumers in developing countries.
Hamshire and Wight Trust for Maritime
Archaeology:
The Hampshire and Wight Trust for Maritime
Archaeology promotes interest, research and knowledge of maritime
archaeology and heritage in Great Britain with core activities
concentrated in the counties of Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and the
adjacent South Coast areas.
Reef Relief:
Reef Relief is a non-profit membership
organization dedicated to Preserve and Protect Living Coral Reef
Ecosystems through local, regional, and global efforts.
ReefBase:
ReefBase is a
database on coral reefs and their resources. Designed as a repository
of available information on coral reefs, ReefBase presents this
information through user friendly software on a CD-ROM. ReefBase has
been created for scientists, academicians, students, resource managers
in government and private institutions, divers and other coral reef
enthusiasts. ReefBase is part of a research effort to develop criteria
for assessing coral reef health, at national, regional and global
scales. It is the official database of the Global Coral Reef Monitoring
Network, and directly addresses priority actions of the International
Coral Reef Initiative, now endorsed by 75 governments. ReefBase aims to
make reef information available to a wide audience to promote awareness
and informed management of coral reef systems.
Currents, the quarterly newsletter of the
Oceanic Resource Foundation:
The Summer 98 issue is focused on coral
reefs and includes information about diseases, bleaching and
restoration efforts. Featured articles have been provided by James
Cervino of the Global Coral Reef Alliance, Katharina Fabricius of AIMS,
and Robin and Andrew Bruckner of the University of Puerto Rico and NOAA.
