Li-Young Lee
Born in Indonesia, of Chinese parents, the poet Li-Young Lee moved to the United States as a young boy. He has taught at Northwestern University and the University of Iowa. He is the author of Book of My Nights (BOA Editions, 2001); The City in Which I Love You (1991), which was the 1990 Lamont Poetry Selection; and Rose (1986), which won the Delmore Schwartz Memorial Poetry Award. His memoir, The Winged Seed: A Remembrance (Simon and Schuster, 1995), won the American Book Award. His other honors include a Lannan Literary Award, a Whiting Writer's Award, a National Endowment for the Arts grant, and a Guggenheim Foundation fellowship. He lives in Chicago, Illinois, with his family.
