Rural Community Assistance Program
Overview
The Rural Community Assistance Program on the Tongass National
Forest provides assistance to rural communities located in or near
the Forest that have become economically disadvantaged due to public
land management decisions. The program supports these communities
in their community planning and economic diversification efforts
through technical and financial assistance. The Forest provides
grants to eligible communities. All grants are awarded on a competitive
basis.
