Overview: 22 German expressionist paintings and 2 sculptures dating from the early 20th century, selected from the Saltzman Family Collection, were on view in this exhibition. The installation included works by Max Beckmann, Lyonel Feininger, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Otto Müller, Emil Nolde, and others.

The exhibition was organized by the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC Alan Shestack, deputy director, coordinated the installation.
