You are the heartbeat of the Forest Service. Here on the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest volunteers perform a variety of activities from forest conservation to trail restoration. Volunteering for the US Forest Service Opportunities with the Snoqualmie Ranger DistrictSnoqualmie Ranger District encompasses almost 350,000 acres of land, including 110,000 acres within the Alpine Lakes, Norse Peak, and Clearwater Wilderness areas. Full and part-time volunteers are needed at all levels of difficulty. Find out more about volunteering with the Snoqualmie Ranger District Protecting the Monte Cristo AreaDarrington Ranger District and the Monte Cristo Preservation Association’s Volunteer Stewards provide visitor information and help maintain facilities at the historic Monte Cristo town site. Monte Cristo is located along the Mountain Loop Scenic Byway, between the rural communities of Darrington and Granite Falls in Snohomish County. What you can do for Monte Cristo Trail Restoration & ConstructionHelp build and maintain the Iron Goat Trail. This historic recreational trail follows the abandoned Great Northern Railway line located in the Stevens Pass area of the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Become a Mountain StewardsNorth Cascades Institute’s Mountain Stewards are volunteers 18 years and older who teach backpackers, day hikers and climbers how to travel safely while helping maintain trails on Mt.
