  • Celebrations
The Hispanic/Latino community is composed of people from many different countries of origin, with distinct backgrounds, customs, and observances. As you develop your Hispanic/Latino outreach plan, keep in mind their cultural celebrations. Following are some observances and activities to consider as you plan your program. However, check with your community members for other appropriate dates that will represent the traditions of their countries.

  • Health Observances
Health professionals, teachers, community leaders, employers, and others can use these observances to develop audience-specific activities at senior centers and other community places, sponsor eye health promotion events, and create awareness of eye health risks.

  • Community Activities
Use these ideas to develop eye health education activities in your community.
