Disaster Summary for FEMA-1251-DR, Mississippi Declaration Date: October 1, 1998 Incident Type: Hurricane Georges Incident Period: September 25 until and including October 14, 1998 Counties Declared and Types of Assistance as of October 20: Covington, Forrest, George, Greene, Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Jones, Lamar, Marion, Pearl River, Perry, Stone and Wayne counties for Individual Assistance (IA) and Public Assistance (PA) (14). Jasper, Jefferson Davis and Pike Counties for Individual Assistance.
