Motor Vehicle Use Map / Travel Map

The Fishlake National Forest has completed a route designation process as shown on the official Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM) dated August 2007. Motorized travel is restricted to designated routes and two small play areas only. The official map is composed of six individual maps based on district boundaries. These maps are formatted for 36" x 48" paper and can be viewed at one of the administrative offices of the Fishlake National Forest or click here to view your area of interest.

The Motor Vehicle Use Map is black and white and does not provide much detail. It is not an appropriate map for forest visitors to successfully plan a recreation outing (hunters, ATV riders, hikers, etc.) Therefore, we developed a "Travel Map" version of the MVUM--one for the west half and one for the east half of the Forest--which is available free of charge at any Fishlake administrative office. This map displays all legal routes and areas open for motorized use. If a road or trail does not appear on this map, it is not open to public vehicular use.

To facilitate distribution via the web, this version of the map has been formatted as 82 individual maps which can be interactively selected, then printed or saved to your computer. The maps are constructed to fit 8.5 x 11 paper to make them printer-friendly. You can select a specific area of interest or choose to download the entire map book. Click here to access the index for this version of the map.
