APT Center

Facilities

The Cleveland Advanced Platform Technology (APT) Center is a collaborative effort between the Case School of Engineering and the Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. APT Center interacts with the Departments of Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) and Macromolecular Science Departments. Faculty from EECS include experts in micro-electromechanical system (MEMS) fabrication, wireless communication for biological applications, amplifier design for biosignal (EMG and ENG) recording, and application specific integrated circuit (ASIC ) design. Faculty from the Macromolecular Science Department are experts in biologically inspired polymers and nanocomposites. APT Personnel include a Senior Engineering Manager and a Quality Systems Manager whose services for specifying a formal development plan and monitoring the design schedule and budget for fabricating prototypes.
