Synopsis

Do you feel overwhelmed trying to keep up with compliance issues? Do you have time to do compliance work along with your other job duties? Is your compliance program at risk?

The OIG does not expect the small rural hospital to have a big hospital compliance program. However there are certain elements that must be present in both the small and big organizations in order for the compliance plan to be considered effective. This course will outline these elements and provide a realistic and practical approach in meeting the OIG and Federal Sentencing Guidelines.

Presentation objectives

To provide small rural hospital staff with tools to develop an effective compliance program. The presentation will include a brief discussion of OIG and Federal Sentencing guidelines, a plan of action for implementing an effective program, methods for developing a work plan, and recommendations on documenting compliance activities on an ongoing basis.

Speaker

Cynthia R. DuPree, CPA, FHFMA, CCS is a Partner with Draffin & Tucker, LLP in Albany, Georgia. She serves as Director of Consulting and Compliance Services for the firm.
