WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama has nominated Maj. Gen. (Dr.) Charles Bruce Green to become the next Air Force surgeon general.

General Green is currently the Air Force's deputy surgeon general, a position he has held since August 2006. Pending approval by the Senate, General Green would become the Air Force's 20th surgeon general and replace Lt. Gen. (Dr.) James G. Roudebush, who is retiring. MORE
