Halfmoon Drainage The scenic Halfmoon Drainage is located 10 miles southwest of Leadville. Fishing, camping, hiking, picnicking and four-wheel driving are all activities enjoyed in this area. Halfmoon and Elbert Creek Campgrounds receive extensive use on weekends from people climbing Colorado's two highest peaks, Mount Elbert (14,433 feet) and Mount Massive (14,421 feet).
Twin Lakes

The Twin Lakes are located on Highway 82, approximately 20 miles south of Leadville. This area offers a wide range of attractions, including fishing, boating, camping and scenic driving. The Twin Lakes are natural, glacially formed lakes which have been enlarged to provide additional storage for the Fryingpan-Arkansas Project.

Tennessee Pass Tennessee Pass served as a training ground for the Tenth Mountain Division, a military troop based at Camp Hale which served in World War II. "This famed mountain division, which served heroically in Italy in 1945 is commemorated with a war memorial on Tennessee Pass at the entrance to Ski Cooper, as are men of the Ninety-ninth Infantry Battalion who were stationed also at Camp Hale".

Tennessee Pass
