FOREST ORDER
Occupancy and Use Restrictions
Cimarron National Grassland
Pursuant to Title 16, United States Code, Section
551, and Title 36, Code of Federal Regulations, Section 261.50(a),
the following acts are prohibited within the Cottonwood
Picnic Ground, described as those National Forest System
lands between the Kansas Highway 27 entrance to the facility and
contained within the fenced area located in Section 4, Township
34 South, Range 42 West, 6th PM, Morton County, Kansas, as shown
on the attached map, hereby incorporated into this Order as Exhibit
A.
PROHIBITIONS:
1. Building, maintaining, attending, or using
a fire or campfire, with the exception of charcoal fires in the
fire grates provided by the Forest Service and gas fueled or other
self-contained chemical stoves. (36 CFR 261.52(a)
2. Being publicly nude. 36 CFR 261.58(j)
EXEMPTIONS:
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (e), the following persons
are exempt from this Order:
1. Persons with a Forest Service permit specifically
authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.
2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member
of an organized rescue or fire fighting force, in the performance
of an official duty.
This Order supercedes Order 93-01, applicable to
the Cottonwood Picnic Ground, Cimarron National Grassland, dated
April 6, 1993.
This Forest Order shall be in effect from February
1, 2008 until January 31, 2013, or rescinded, whichever event
occurs first.

Violation of these prohibitions is punishable as
a Class B Misdemeanor by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an
individual or $10,000 for a legal entity other than an individual,
or imprisonment for not more than six (6) months, or both (16
USC 551 and 18 USC 3559 and 3571).
