T-100 System ADP Specifications for U.S. Air Carriers

The purpose of this directive is to clarify the ADP instructions contained in the appendix to section 241.25 of CFR Part 241 - Instructions to U.S. Air Carriers for Reporting Traffic and Capacity Data an Form 41 Schedules T-100. T-1, T-2 and T-3 (Amendment No. 241.57 to CFR Part 241, 53 FR 46284, November 16, 1988).  The items covered by this directive pertain to record format, internal labeling of ADP tapes, and tape blocking factors.  It does not involve changes to the data elements as specified by the rule.

  1. Paragraph E.(k)(4) mandates that a single tape file shall be used for reporting non-stop segment and on-flight market records.  In order to be consistent with the standards for fixed length record formatting, the length of each record in a file must be the same.  Therefore to assure that all records in the file are 123 characters long, please modify the On-flight Market record layout that appears in paragraph E.(J)(2) by adding an additional field as follows:

  2. The blocking  factor for the T-100 tape file should be 250,

  4. The blocking  factor for the T-schedule file is 1,000.
  5.       
  6. The file identification information in paragraph E.(i)(1) is incomplete.  It should read "T-1OO.System" for the T-100 non-stop segment and on-flight market tape, and "T-1OO.SCHEDULE" for the combined Schedule T-1, T-2, and T-3 data tape.
