Development and Application of the Sublethal Toxicity Test to PAH
Using Marine Harpacticoid Copepods
Final Report

OCS Report MMS 99-0001

The Minerals Management Service (MMS), Gulf of Mexico OCS Region, announces the availability of a new study report, Development and Application of the Sublethal Toxicity Test to PAH Using Marine Harpacticoid Copepods, Final Report.

The objective of this study was to develop an experimental protocol to determine the effects of polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) on estuarine harpacticoids and to use this technique to apply it to specific problems associated with contaminant effects. The report provides information about the effects of sediment-bound PAH’s on survivorship and reproduction of harpacticoid copepods through the development of a sublethal toxicity-testing system.
