What can ANY adult at school do to help?
1. Learn as much as you can about bullying among children and youth and best practices for addressing bullying.

2. Closely supervise students at school and be watchful for possible signs of bullying. Print out and review the fact sheets, Warning Signs That a Child is Being Bullied and Children who Bully.

3. Take immediate action if you observe or suspect bullying. Print out and review How to Intervene to Stop Bullying: Tips for On-the-Spot Interventions at School. Report bullying to the proper authorities at your school. Provide support and follow-up assistance to a bullied child after-the-fact, or locate a staff person who's job is to do so. Review Providing support to Children Who Are Bullied: Tips for School Personnel.

4. Remember that actions sometimes speak louder than words. Be sure that you don't inadvertently model bullying behavior yourself.
