turkey Thanksgiving Food Drive/
Take a Turkey to Work Day

The 2nd Annual Take your Turkey to Work Day will be on November 25. Laboratory employees and contractors are encouraged to bring a Turkey (not the one you work with) and other non-perishable food items to work that day. CPO employees and other LANL volunteers will be collecting at each Guard Post and at the CPO Office at 1619 Central Avenue. The goal is to provide a Thanksgiving meal to over 600 families in the Tri-County areas of Rio Arriba, Santa Fe, and Los Alamos.

The holiday food drive will run November 3- 25 to donate food items to the San Martin de Porres Soup Kitchen. Food collection boxes will be distributed throughout the Laboratory and Los Alamos for collection. The Soup Kitchen located in Espanola will be managing the distribution of the food baskets.

Holiay Gift Tags and Adopt-A-Family openhouse

The Laboratory is partnering with New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department (NMCYFD)for this year's Holiday Drives. Laboratory employees and contractors can either select a tag from many holiday trees that will be around the Laboratory and Los Alamos. The goal is to collect more than 1,000 gifts for children, seniors and families this holiday season. All gifts will be collected and delivered on December 17 - during the 2nd Annual LANL Community Giving Open House. Come join the fun with Harley Santa's biscochitos and hot cocoa. NMCYFD provides assistance to individuals and families in Santa Fe, Rio Arriba, Los Alamos, Taos, Mora, San Miguel, and Sandoval counties as well as other Northern New Mexico areas.

lanl laces

"LANL Laces," is a year-round Laboratory employee-giving program. The program is designed to purchase shoes for children to ensure that they have proper school attire. Local school districts will identify kids who have the greatest need. Mervyn's partners with the Laboratory by having their employee help the students select the size of shoes that they need. Fittings will begin sometime in February.

Laboratory employees and contractors can choose one of two methods to donate to LANL Laces: Drop-off a personal check/money order at the Cashier's Office in the Otowi Building or mail it to Mail Stop P231. Employees should indicate (on the check) that it is a donation to LANL Laces. Volunteers to assist with the shoe fittings are also needed.
