2 . How do I find out who my Account Sponsor is?
Go to the webpage http://silk.nih.gov/locator/
  • Go to the fourth line of the page, and select your Institute or Center from the Account Sponsors and Alternates drop-down list.
  • Click the Display button.
  • This will display all the Account Sponsors for your Institute or Center. Your browser's "Find" function can be used to locate your division and corresponding Account Sponsors. Otherwise, talk to your supervisor or co-worker, or call the NIH Help Desk for assistance.

    3 . What is my new VPN or Parachute username and password?
    The technology for validating VPN and Parachute IDs and passwords at log-in was improved on 6/1/2005.

    All new VPN and Parachute IDs created via Web Sponsor use the person's NIH Login ID instead of an Account Sponsor chosen ID.

    When the person logs into VPN or Parachute, they should use their NIH Login ID and password — the username and password they use to login to their computer at work.
