简介
1994年,美国健康及人类服务部(U.S. Department of Health and Human Services)下达命令,要求在所有联邦资助的研究中都必须包含充足的少数族裔。这一命令要求研究人员必须监督研究样本参与研究的情况以及调查不应答的差异。本研究说明了在人群种族数据不完整时,评估调查不应答差异的方法,而针对保健计划会员进行的研究往往会有人群种族数据不完整的情况。

方法
作为PRISM(筛检性乳腺X线摄影检查的个人相关信息,Personally Relevant Information about Screening Mammography)研究的一部分,我们收集了数据。PRISM是一项由国立卫生院(National Institutes of Health)资助的一项研究,旨在增加坚持年度乳腺X线摄影检查的比率。我们采用了两种方法来判断PRISM研究人群的种族分布。第一种方法被称为E-Tech,使用个人的姓名和邮政编码判断样本架构的种族。我们采用第二种方法对拒绝参加PRISM研究的子样本进行了访谈。通过与自我报告的种族相对比,我们验证了两种判断方法。我们使用了E-Tech生成的种族信息、访谈者的判断以及自我报告来评估PRISM研究中不应答的差异。

结论
