National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NN/LM)
Coordinated by the National Library of Medicine, the NN/LM is a network of health science libraries and information centers throughout the United States. The NN/LM provides health care professionals and the public equal access to biomedical and health care information resources.

The following associations and organizations support the health sciences information field and medical libraries. They are committed to educating health information professionals, promoting excellence in libraries, and supporting health information research.
Medical Library Association (MLA)
A nonprofit, educational organization committed to educating health information professionals, supporting health information research, promoting access to the world’s health sciences information, and working to ensure that the best health information is available to all.
Association of Academic Health Sciences Libraries (AAHSL)
Promotes excellence in academic health sciences libraries and ensures that the next generation of health practitioners is trained in information seeking skills that enhance the quality of health care delivery, education, and research.
Special Libraries Association Biomedical and Life Sciences Division (SLA)
Focuses on information services and management in all areas of the life sciences. A Medical Section addresses the interests of Division members involved in the biomedical and health sciences.
Canadian Health Libraries Association (CHLA)/Association des Biblioth’eques de la Sante’ du Canada (ABSC)
CHLA/ABSC encourages the professional development of its Canadian members whose foremost concern is the dissemination of health sciences information to those in research, education, and patient care.
European Association for Health Information and Libraries Association (EAHIL)/Europe’enne pour l’Information et les Biblioth’eques de Sante’ (AEIBS)
A professional association for medical and health sciences librarians throughout Europe.
IFLA Section of Health and Biosciences Libraries
This specialty Section promotes international cooperation among health sciences and biological libraries. The Section encourages collaboration with the World Health Organization and other global organizations.
