Welcome to the Glacier Ranger District on Chugach National Forest

The Glacier Ranger District encompasses most of western Prince William Sound. The Sound is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Until you've been there you have no idea what southcentral Alaska is all about. Rainy day or sunny day, any day in Prince William Sound is a once in a lifetime day.

Bald eagles, brown bears, silver salmon, killer whales - they are all here in abundance. Come and see, take the time.

Campground & Trails

Currently the only campground gate open is at Williwaw. Check back to see the status of campgrounds before the weekend. If possible they will be opened.

Trails still have patchy snow and are very muddy in the lower elevations. Crow Creek Road is open all the way to the trailhead. It is rough going but passable.

Begich, Boggs Opens for Summer

The BBVC will open every day starting Memorial Day weekend. Come on out and let us show you the sights.

Remember... it's your forest!
